I paint the places I can't stop returning to.

Summits at first light. Desert canyon walls. Old growth forests after rain. The strange quiet of the backcountry when everyone else has gone home. These are the places that show up in my work — not as postcards, but as feelings. Color, movement, the particular way light hits snow or stone or water.

I'm Sawyer — a painter, DJ, fire spinner, and ski coach based in Salt Lake City, Utah. My art practice lives at the intersection of wilderness and wonder, grounded in years spent moving through wild places and trying to hold onto what they felt like long enough to put it on canvas.

I've shown work at the Utah Arts Festival, painted live at festivals across the West, and carried my practice into the Burning Man community, where art exists to be experienced, not just observed. My painting style is nature-rooted and playful — equal parts reverent and a little mystical.
